Program Details

The Nurse Anesthesiology Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) specialty prepares ICU nurses to provide quality anesthesia care utilizing high scientific knowledge and practice expertise. You'll learn to care for patients during the perioperative period to be safe and comfortable during their surgical procedures using pharmacological and scientific techniques.

The DNP program is a hybrid program utilizing a mixture of online didactic coursework, on-campus intensives, and on-ground practicum and clinical placements. It is a practice-focused doctoral program emphasizing innovative, evidence-based professional practice and reflecting the application and implementation of credible research findings. The Nurse Anesthesiology specialization blends online, face-to-face (including required training sessions and orientations), and clinical residency learning within 36 months of full-time study. Students enrolled in the nurse anesthesia curriculum receive a broad foundation of educational preparation for the full scope of nursing theories, research methods, and anesthesia practice across the lifespan.
