The Bachelor of Applied Science with an emphasis in Meteorology is offered entirely online, allowing students to access classes whenever it suits their schedules, from wherever they are in the world. By applying Associate of Applied Science credits toward the BAS degree, airmen will effectively eliminate the first two years of study. At full-time status, students with 60 AAS credits can earn a BAS degree within two years.

  • ATMO 436A: Fundamentals in Atmospheric Sciences - Fundamental topics in the atmospheric sciences. Topics include composition of the atmosphere, atmospheric thermodynamics, atmospheric chemistry, cloud physics, radiative transfer, atmospheric dynamics, and climate.
  • ATMO 455: Intro to Atmospheric and Hydrology Remote Sensing - An introduction to basic remote sensing techniques and their applications to the atmosphere, hydrology and other fields. This includes understanding the basic concepts of radiation transfer, passive and active remote sensing, satellite and ground-based remote sensing and their retrieval techniques.
  • ATMO 441A: Dynamic Meteorology I - Thermodynamics and its application to planetary atmospheres, hydrostatics, fundamental concepts and laws of dynamic meteorology.
